Following a meeting with the International Upper Great Lakes Study Board, MP Joe Comuzzi said Friday, more of a focus needs to be placed right here at home on Lake Superior.
He says during the meeting with staff from both the House of Commons and Senate, the group was briefed on the Great Lakes Water level study currently taking place. Comuzzi says that study concentrates more on Lake Erie, Ontario, and the Georgian Bay area.
As well as wanting more focus on why Lake Superior water levels continue to fall, Comuzzi says he wasn't satisfied with the answers the scientists did provide. The study is expected to take five years in total and it began just last February. Comuzzi says he will continue his efforts to finding answers to dropping Lake Superior water levels.
