Published April 21, 2008

The stewardship and conservation land supervisor with the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority is going to speak to a group in Arizona later this summer. Kate Monk has been invited to talk to the Soil and Water Conservation Society in Tuscon, Arizona in July.

Monk says she'll be talking about stewardship on a community level - a concept that's been developing in Ontario. Monk says one thing they do well in Arizona is make the most of limited fresh water resources, so she hopes to learn how they do things and bring back information. Monk says when we live on the shores of the Great Lakes we tend to take availability of water for granted.
