New York Sea Grant and the Oswego Maritime
Foundation is hosting the 2009 Great Lakes Underwater event March 7th at SUNY
Oswego. The Keynote speaker is Jim Kennard, who will present several findings
including three deep shipwrecks of Lake Ontario. Kennard has discovered more than
a half dozen ships in local waters and the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. Pre-registration
of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS)
This conference will have an outstanding set of technical presentations
on all aspects of imaging and geospatial information. Following the theme of the
conference, Reflection of the Past, Vision for the Future, we will feature sessions
on the evolution and future of geospatial data collection, processing and analysis,
and information derivation in ways that are useful in making local, national and
global decisions, whether it is for homeland security, resource management, business,
or other purposes.

soil erosion, dredging, invasive species, water management, habitat, wetlands,
recreation, and planning.

Agricultural Drainage Design & Water Management Workshop
University of Minnesota Extension will offer its annual two-day drainage
workshop to give practioners the tools to address drainage design and management
to meet both environmental and agronomic objectives. The workshop will take place
at the Holiday Inn and Willmar Conference Center.

Great Lakes: Adapting to a Wave of Change

the Challenges of Great Lakes Stewardship: SENCER Approaches
SENCER (Science Education for New Civic Engagements and Responsibilities)
has provided regular opportunities for teams of undergraduate faculty to improve
science education by focusing on real world problems. The SENCER conference will
address issues facing the Great Lakes basin that can be incorporated into undergraduate
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) courses.
